FALL 2024 Multicultural Mentorship Program Overview
Mentoring is one of the most effective ways to achieve professional growth. It takes place between colleagues through conversations, activities, shared experiences, collaborative projects, empathy, and support for each other’s unique personalities and much more.
Multicultural or “culturally aware” mentorship is based on the recognition of one’s own culturally shaped beliefs, perceptions, judgements and the development of sensitivity towards the cultural uniqueness of others. The recognition of cultural differences and similarities facilitates professional and personal growth, promotes cross-cultural understanding, and contributes to our important community objectives of creating and maintaining equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Starting on October 10, 2024, the Center for Faculty Development & Advancement will partner with the Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the International Mentoring Association to offer a program and certificate in Multicultural Mentorship. An accomplished team from the International Mentoring Association will facilitate 3 interactive learning sessions via Zoom. Please join us for this important training!
A certificate of completion will be issued to participants of all three sessions.
