Panopto is a video-hosting platform for both instructors and students. A safe and secure environment to store your important video content is critical. Panopto is integrated into Canvas to provide seamless viewing of your videos for students.
Panopto has several key features to meet your video needs:
Upload and share videos: Upload your videos into your Panopto library and share those videos with your students, colleagues, and beyond.
Provide captions: Autocaptioning provides captions for both the videos you upload directly on the platform or videos you record using Panopto making your videos more accessible for students.
Record videos: Capture video from your camera or your screen or both simultaneously. Panopto allows you to record directly within your web browser or download the video recording application.

Any video you upload or record using Panopto will by default be set to "restricted."
You can change your permission settings on your video in the video settings under "share."
You have three video-sharing options:
Restricted: Only you and specific people you add can see the video.
Your Organization: Anyone at our institution who has the link to your video can view the video.
Public: Anyone who has the link to your video can view the video.
Note: If you are embedding videos directly in Canvas using the Panopto video button located in your rich content editor toolbar that means students in that specific course can see the video.
Yes. You can set up an integration between Panopto and Zoom so that when you record a video using Zoom it will automatically upload that recording into your Panopto library.
