Microsoft to bring Voice Access to Windows 11 with its latest Windows Insider Preview
Feature expected to come to all version of Windows 11
Dec 7, 2021Microsoft may soon offer hands-free voice access for Windows 11
The new feature is debuting in the latest Windows Insider Preview build of the operating system. Insider previews are geared towards developers and can be buggy so are generally not suitable for most people. That said, most features eventually become available to everyone in a future stable update for everyone.Voice access will use on-device hardware to perform the speech recognition necessary to launch apps, browse the web and more. This means the internet is not required and ensures a higher degree of privacy for the user. Microsoft has added a bunch of commands to Voice Access which can be enabled in the Windows 11 Settings > Accessibility > Speech menu. From there you can start and stop voice access using the keyboard shortcut Alt+Shift+C or using your voice "Voice Access wake up / sleep".
English only for now.
