Building a Global Platform for Higher Education
CU participates in 4th International Exhibition and Conference on Higher Education, Saudi Arabia
The CU System was honored to participate in the 4th annual International Exhibition and Conference on Higher Education (IECHE) by invitation from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Higher Education on April 16-20, 2013 in the Riyadh International Exhibition Center. The main theme of the 4th IECHE was The Global Platform for Higher Education, and the program included 21 plenary lectures by university leaders throughout the world, including Joseph A Alutto, Ohio State University, Executive Vice President (Strategic Pillars for Organizational Sustainability), and Lisa Anderson, President, American University in Cairo (The University as a Community: Sustainability and Innovation as Pedagogy and Practice). Keynotes were given by OH Yeon-Cheon, President, Seoul National University, and by Mohamed Hamad Al-Mady, President, SABIC.
Representatives from 37 countries brought a truly global perspective to the event. The formal program participants had ample opportunities to meet and discuss a wide variety of educational and research issues and topics, including the social responsibilities of universities, social innovation, finance and sustainability, diversity and gender issues, community engagement, and more.
All of this in was in addition to the chance to establish new connections for collaboration and partnerships, the maintenance of existing international relationships, and to gauge activities and best practices on a global, interactive scale. The three individuals from the CU system additionally represented the institution’s recruitment mission at this event, which is one of the largest in the Middle East.

Year-Round Events Enjoyed By ICB Students
Aug 31, 2023Throughout 2023, ICB students are continuing to join in the fun of indoor and outdoor events hosted by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) and CU Denver. In the spring, two hundred thirty students, staff, faculty, and friends recognized the Lunar New Year at an event presented by OIA, the Asian Students Association (ASA), and the Intercultural Club Beijing.
