Who We Are

UCDALI is the University of Colorado Denver Association of Lecturers and IRC (Instructional, Research and Clinical) faculty. It is one of CU Denver’s shared governance bodies, with a specific focus on the needs and working experiences of faculty who work outside of tenure lines: All Lecturers and Senior Lecturers, and all ranks in the Instructor, Teaching Professor, Research Professor, Professional Research Assistant/Associate, Clinical Teaching, Clinical Practice and Clinical tracks. What We Do

UCDALI strives to advance professionalism among and respect for IRC faculty and Lecturers at CU Denver through representation, communication and community.

We approach these goals and serve every aspect of CU Denver’s mission, especially student success, by:

  • Participating in shared governance

  • Fostering a spirit of inclusion, unity, and partnership

  • Promoting communication across the University

  • Encouraging growth in teaching, scholarship and creative work, and leadership

  • Improving working conditions

  • Advocating for career advancement

  • Building community

  • Catalyzing positive change through partnerships

UCDALI plays an active role in campus initiatives impacting Lecturers and IRC faculty including the Provost’s IRC Task Force and Roadmap, Academic Transformation Working Groups, and committees and working groups supporting student enrollment and success, among others.

We welcome input to strengthen our efforts to support and be a voice for Lecturers and IRC faculty. Please be in touch any time with interests, ideas, questions or concerns. Email us at ucdali@ucdenver.eduor elizabeth.pugliano@ucdenver.edu

Membership

All CU Denver Lecturers and IRC faculty are automatically considered members of UCDALI. There are no dues or other requirements, although we encourage you to connect with UCDALI activities, projects and leadership. For information on upcoming meetings and events, and opportunities to get involved, please check our main page and newsletter (published every fall and spring). Be on the lookout for occasional messages from UCDALI to your CU Denver email address, or email UCDALI President Beth Pugliano at elizabeth.pugliano@ucdenver.edu, or the UCDALI general email at ucdali@ucdenver.edu

UCDALI is led by an Executive Committee composed of the following elected positions: President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Information Officer, Bridge Network Coordinator and at least two Members-at-Large. The Executive Committee also includes the immediate Past President, the UCDALI Faculty Assembly representatives, and the ICB (International College Beijing) liaison.

Bridge Network

Working closely with the Executive Committee are the Bridge Network Liaisons, who help forge connections between the UCDALI Executive Committee and IRC faculty and Lecturers in individual schools, colleges and the library. Bridge Network Liaisons are identified through individual school/college/library processes. They are asked to attend at least two (of four) Executive Committee meetings every semester, to help share information relevant to IRC faculty and Lecturers, and to help keep the UCDALI Executive Committee informed on questions, concerns and other issues impacting IRC faculty and Lecturers across the campus. If you have questions about the Bridge Network or are interested in becoming a Liaison, please reach out to Bridge Network Coordinator Paula Schmidtlein (paula.schmidtlein@ucdenver.edu).
