You Can Expect Respect

Education and Training

Diversity is a core value at CU Denver and CU Anschutz. As stated in our Strategic Plan, "To succeed, the working group must recognize the strength of diverse communities and perspectives. We must continue and enhance our commitment to creating an inclusive culture in pursuit of our goals of excellence and meeting the needs of the state, nation and world."

As a University, we are committed to the development of an inclusive campus culture, where diversity is coupled with the principles of value, trust, and respect.

In the Office of Equity (OE) we believe a significant aspect in creating an inclusive campus culture starts with proactive education and training initiatives. As such, we offer a wide range of educational support as needed to our dual-campus constituents.

Yes, for all CU Denver | CU Anschutz employees.

Effective October 1, 2018, CU System-wide communication was sent out regarding revisions made to the Sexual Misconduct Policy. The policy revisions included a new requirement for all employees to complete training on all OE-related policies every three years. The Skillsoft Percipio training referenced in the policy administered by the OE, is titled, CU: Discrimination & Sexual Misconduct – CU Denver | CU Anschutz

On May 6, 2020, Title IX regulations (2020 Title IX regulations) were announced by the U.S. Department of Education and Office for Civil Rights with a mandate to be in effect by August 14, 2020. The University has revised our system-wide Sexual Misconduct, Intimate Partner Violence, and Stalking Policy (Sexual Misconduct Policy) pursuant to updated legal requirements from the U.S. Department of Education under Title IX.

On August 18, 2020, all employee compliance records were "reset." This means if you completed the Discrimination & Sexual Misconduct training before August 18, 2020, you are considered out of compliance with University policy and are required to retake the course.

  • Communications were sent informing the campus community of the 2020 Title IX regulations and compliance record “reset” on August 18, 2020 (CU Denver News and CU Anschutz News), and new communications were advertised in July 2022, in honor of Title IX’s 50th anniversary (CU Denver News and CU Anschutz News).

On August 8, 2022, all dual campus employees were auto-enrolled into our online Skillsoft Percipio training to increase compliance rates, and will receive automatic reminders/past-due notifications when it is time to retake the training (every three years).

To find out what trainings the OE is able to provide, please visit our Training Catalog. The catalog will include descriptions of each training with expected learning objectives and expected learning outcomes.
