Your support of CU Denver and our students changes lives in so many ways. It is not often that we get to see how students react when they learn they will benefit from philanthropic support, such as a scholarship. This video captures a few of these heartwarming moments.
The College of Architecture and Planning awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to 12 students as part of its Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Initiative.
Jake Hattaway, a BSBA Accounting student at the CU Denver Business School, has been awarded a $10,000 merit scholarship from the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).
“It’s such an amazing thing to do, to take their hard earned money and invest it in people they don’t even know. I would love to be in a position to do the same someday.”
“Having the scholarship is an amazing opportunity. Not only does it let me stay focused on school work and motivate me to keep my grades up, but when you first move out on your own, it’s great to have someone say, ‘I believe in you.’”
"Knowing that someone else cares enough to cover the expenses of my education
is just phenomenal. Someday I would like to provide this same opportunity to students. It would make me very proud to know that I helped someone else achieve their goals."
