We welcome and strongly encourage family members and guests to participate in Family & Guest Orientation. Data shows that students are more successful when their support networks are familiar with resources available to them.
Participating in the Family & Guest Orientation is a way for you as someone who supports and cares for a CU Denver student to get questions answered and learn how to best support your student as they transition to the university. As a support person of a CU Denver student, we rely on you to encourage students to engage academically and socially so they have the best possible chance of making CU Denver their home for the next few years and succeeding in college!
When you attend the virtual orientation, you can expect to hear from a variety of our CU Denver campus partners as they speak to the following content areas and have time for general Q&A:
Academic Success Tips and Resources
Important Academic Dates
Billing Process
And more!
We offer two Zoom Family & Guest Orientation sessions over the summer. This year Family & Guest Orientation dates are on the dates below
These sessions are designed to address more specific concerns that you may have regarding Housing & Dining, Financial Aid, and the Bursar (Billing Office)
If you miss these sessions, don’t worry! We record the sessions for your convenience and the recordings will be available below:
“Can I Afford to Live on Campus?”:
Are you unsure of the benefits of living on campus? Do you have questions about how financial aid, loans, grants, and scholarships all impact how much your student pays for college? How can I know if I can afford to live on campus? If any of these questions interest you, join us as our Financial Aid, Housing, and Billing office colleagues present to answer these questions and more!
