STRIDES is part of a National Institutes of Health (NIH) program to support biomedical research and cloud-based research technologies. Only NIH-funded researchers can participate in the STRIDES benefits provided by approved provider Carahsoft. Welcome to the NIH STRIDES Initiative
The Science and Technology Research Infrastructure for Discovery, Experimentation, and Sustainability (STRIDES) Initiative provides researchers with NIH grants to use cloud compute and storage services.Currently, CU Anschutz offers NIH-funded campus researchers access to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as part of the STRIDES initiative. Carahsoft Technology Corp. is the STRIDES program approved provider to onboard and administer the GCP program.
To Request Enrollment in the Google Cloud Platform NIH STRIDES Initiative
Enrollment in STRIDES is only available to current CU Anschutz NIH-funded researchers. Interested in applying? Following these steps:
- Complete the Carahsoft Billing Account Request Form.
- Submit a purchase order (PO) request to the university Procurement Service Center. The PO must be approved by your campus department prior to submitting the request.
- The Google Cloud Pricing Calculator can be used to estimate monthly usage.
- Reference the Carahsoft quote number on the PO. Include any additional billing administrators you would like to have on the account. (The Carahsoft Billing Account Request Form only allows you to enter one administrator.)
- Carahsoft will invoice the researcher once the PO is in place and create a billing ID so that the researcher is listed as a billing administrator.
