The University of Colorado is thrilled to introduce a new specialty CU license plate, now available at the Colorado DMV. This plate isn’t just a way to show your CU pride—it’s a meaningful way to support CU Denver students on their educational journey.
The new plate was made possible by the determination and commitment of CU Denver alumni volunteers. Their work to secure this new specialty license plate took more than two years and involved securing more than 500 signatures from people who agreed to get the plate once available. In addition to highlighting an opportunity for people to make a tangible difference for students via scholarships, it was important to the alumni volunteers to create a design that was inclusive of the entire CU community.
Adding to the already available CU Boulder plate that features Ralphie, this new plate highlights the interlocking CU, representing all four CU campuses. The CU community and other Colorado drivers now have two design options to show their love for CU.
By making a gift to CU Denver’s License Plate Fund, you not only get access to this distinctive plate but also directly support student scholarships. Since the year 2000, the CU Denver license plate fund has raised $108,015 to empower students who need financial support. Scholarships are often the critical support that helps CU Denver students meet their moment—allowing them to focus on their studies, achieve their goals, and build a brighter future.
Get the CU license plate, drive with pride, and know you’re contributing to the success of the next generation.
