Your official diploma should arrive approximately two months after the Office of the Registrar receives final degree confirmation from your academic dean’s office. Student Philanthropy Cords
To commemorate the CU Denver student experience, students are encouraged to give back by making a gift to support future Lynx. Graduating students who make a gift in their graduation year receive a blue philanthropy cord to wear during the commencement ceremony and show off their giving spirit. Gifts of all sizes make a difference, and students may choose what their gift supports.
Get your philanthropy cord at Cap and Gown Pick-Up on May 3 between 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. or May 4 between 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at St. Cajetan's. CU Denver Alumni Legacy Cords
Be proud and pay homage to your family on graduation day!
When a family makes it a tradition to attend CU Denver, it's something to celebrate. The CU Denver Legacy cord honors family members who share the bond of being CU Denver graduates.
CU Denver Alumni provides complimentary cords to graduating students whose parents, grandparents, spouse/partner, siblings, and/or children are CU Denver alumni to wear at the commencement ceremony.
Celebrate your graduation and recognize your family ties to CU Denver by wearing the black, silver, and gold Legacy Cord.

1. Get Social & Celebrate
Social media is a great way to show your CU Denver pride and stay connected with your academic peers. Use the hashtags #cudenveralumni and #cudenvergrad to celebrate your incredible accomplishment. And, don’t forget to follow @CUDenverAlumni on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
2. Update Your Info
Stay in touch with CU Denver, receive invitations to one-of-a-kind alumni activities such as networking luncheons and community events, and learn how we continue to add value to your degree by updating your records on our website. We rely on you to let us know if your contact information changes.
3. Get Involved
There are many opportunities to give back to your alma mater, including volunteering to mentor students, joining an Alumni Board Committee, writing letters to admitted students, hosting a CU at the Table Thanksgiving meal, and so much more!
4. Email for Life
As a CU Denver graduate you can continue accessing your ucdenver.edu email account for life! Keeping your email address up-to-date will ensure that you stay connected with the CU Denver alumni community, alumni events, and volunteer opportunities. Your ucdenver.edu account can also be forwarded to another email address of your choosing to remain active.
No action is required to claim your email for life, simply continue using the email or forward to another email of your choosing.
5. Get Active
Start your wellness journey and activate your alumni membership to the Lola & Rob Salazar Student Wellness Center.
As a graduate of CU Denver, you also have access to this 85,000 square foot center featuring a 38’ climbing wall, swimming pool, fitness classes, gym courts, weight and endurance training spaces, and more with a membership that fits your schedule and fuels your progress.
6. Leverage LynxConnect
The CU Denver Career Center serves alumni by providing a full suite of career assistance, both online and in person.
Advising: Individuals who are within one year of graduation can access Career Center advising services free of charge. Alumni past one year of graduation may use Career Center resources for a small fee.
Job Search: Handshake is CU Denver's student and alumni job and internship portal.
Hire a Lynx: Provide an opportunity for a current student to work in your office, promote a job listing, and even take office hours in our innovative space. Learn more.
7. Submit a Class Note
Alumni Class Notes is a classic way to keep up with fellow Lynx you may have crossed paths with during your experience at CU Denver. We invite you to share your news. Whether it’s a job promotion, publication, first-time home purchase, or a new baby, tell us what you’ve been up to since graduation. CU Denver Alumni Class Notes will be featured on our website and our social media channels. Video class note submissions are encouraged!
8. Alumni Awards Nomination
The CU Denver Alumni Awards are your opportunity to recognize and thank Lynx alumni who have demonstrated outstanding support for CU Denver or who have excelled in their careers or in service to the community, including recent graduates. The Graduate Of the Last Decade (GOLD) Alumni Award is presented to a graduate of CU Denver, who is within 10 years of graduation. Eligible awardees are affecting positive change for the university community. They also understand the importance of engaging with the university, fellow alumni, and/or current students and are giving back (time, talent, and treasure) to support the future success of CU Denver.
