All new international students in F or J visa classification, including any transfers from other U.S institutions, must complete ISSS’s Canvas Orientation Course. Completion is required to prepare a student to better understand and comply with the rules and regulations governing their visa category. Please contact ISSS if you have any questions about how to maintain your F or J immigration status. ISSS is here to help you; please reach out to us before taking any action that could put your immigration status at risk. You may also be required to attend department-specific orientations. Please get in touch with your Academic Advisor in your school/college for additional information.
You are required to complete the ISSS orientation course for your specific campus. The orientation includes modules about the following topics:
If you do not complete the ISSS orientation, a hold will be placed on your student account in your first semester, preventing you from registering for future semesters until the orientation is completed. The ISSS orientation is campus-specific. Please review your I-20 or DS-2019 to determine at which campus your program is located. Then, click on your campus’s orientation below to self-enroll in your orientation course.
