Export Control

J-1 Exchange Visitor Program

Overview Information for HR Business Partners and Host Units

The Office Regulatory Compliance is responsible for the university’s compliance with export control laws. ISSS assists by requiring completion of a deemed export control case in Visual Compliance for every initial and extension J-1 Request. Requests from National Jewish Health and Denver Health and Hospital Association are not subject to the university’s export control process.

The link below takes you to the Office of Regulatory Compliance’s Export Control page where you will find important information about export control compliance.

Office of Regulatory Compliance: Export Control

CU Denver | Anschutz uses an online software called Visual Compliance. The review is conducted via the “Deemed and Hand Carried Exports” module of Visual Compliance. You will enter and upload information about the prospective employee via an online form and ISSS staff reviews the case.

The online form helps ensure compliance with export control/deemed export governmental regulations and provides a comprehensive summary of activities for incoming international employees.
