Global Study programs are academically rigorous, culturally relevant learning opportunities delivered outside the United States by CU Denver faculty. A program transcends the academic course to include cultural, interpersonal, and intrapersonal learning and growth. The program’s learning opportunities are not necessarily the same as a traditional academic course taught on a college campus. They may be research-based such as a field school, a clinical experience, or production-based such as a studio. Students consider many factors when selecting a program: the academic subject, the faculty leader, pedagogical approach, community or clinical focus, location, duration, cost, etc. Global Study programs include academic work that becomes part of the student’s University of Colorado Denver degree. They are not academic tourism.
