Adventure Rental Center

The Outdoor Adventure program can help plan, outfit, and safely lead an adventure your group will not soon forget! From private small group guiding to large group outings, let us plan and manage the details so you can focus on the fun. We can help you plan day, weekend, or week long trips. Ideas include rock climbing, biking, backpacking, stand up paddle boarding, camping or any combination of activities are among many opportunities available right here in Colorado or beyond!

Are the adventure programs only for students?

- No! Any member of the Lola and Rob Salazar Student Wellness Center may rent gear, use the bike shop and even go on Adventure trips with us. Everyone is welcome to come and explore

 

What happens if I return an item late? 

- If an item is returned late a late fee will be charged. This late fee is equal to the number of days late the item is. The fee will be charged upon the return of the late item. 

 

Can I get a refund if I return my gear early? 

- Unfortunately, you cannot since we do not give refunds on rented gear. You can still return your gear early if you want to, you just won’t receive a refund. 

 

Is there a cleaning fee for gear that is returned dirty? 

-There is a fee for gear that is returned dirty. This fee is $10 per dirty item. The fee will be charged upon return of the item. You can avoid the cleaning fee by cleaning the gear yourself either at home or in the back of our rental shop!

 

What happens if I lost a piece of gear while I was out adventuring? Is there a fee for damaged or lost gear? 

- In the instance that rental gear is damaged or lost there will be a damaged/lost fee assessed. This fee will be determined and charged upon the return of the rental item. 

 

What if I want to rent gear but I cannot come in during the available hours? 

- If you cannot come in during the hours that the rental shop is open you can set up an appointment to pick up your gear. Contact us at adventure@ucdenver.edu to set up an appointment.

I assume full responsibility for the Outdoor Adventure equipment associated with the rental. I am responsible for the proper use of the equipment rented and assume liability for all damages incurred through the use or misuse of the equipment listed on this agreement. I have read the rental policy and understand refunds will not be issued for unused or equipment returned early. Equipment must be returned on or before the due date and time, during open hours for the Lola & Rob Salazar Student Wellness Center 

I agree to return the rented equipment in good condition on the due date prior to the closing of the Lola & Rob Salazar Student Wellness Center. I understand that I am financially responsible for any and all damages or loss of the equipment, as well as late and cleaning fees. I acknowledge that I will pay CU Denver Wellness and Recreation Services for any damages beyond normal wear and tear during the period of the rental agreement. Cost of damages and repair or replace values will be determined by CU Denver Outdoor Adventure personnel. I understand that the credit card information that I have provided may be charged to include, but not limited to the following fee, if applicable: late (daily rental rate), cleaning ($10 per item for cleaning), repair costs and/or replacement (full price of item).

I have inspected the gear prior to use, it is in good condition, and I agree to the charges above, when applicable.  I understand these charges are not contestable. 

I agree to assume all risk of personal injury or loss, bodily injury (including death), damage to or loss of, or destruction of any personal property resulting from, arising out of, or connected to the rental and use of this equipment. I also release, waive, indemnify, hold harmless, and discharge the Regents of the University of Colorado, a body corporate, from all claims, damages, and injuries arising out of my activities, including, if applicable, my rental and use of equipment or facilities provided by the University of Colorado. 

I agree to abide by all federal and state laws, as well as CU Denver Recreation and Wellness Services and University policies, rules, and regulations, and I understand that I am subject to student conduct action for a breach of these laws and regulations. I understand that I am responsible for being familiar with the laws, policies, rules and regulations. 

I have had sufficient time to review and seek explanation of the provisions contained above, have carefully read them, understand them fully, and agree to be bound by them.
