An act of
the Colorado State Legislature in May 2004 established a new way for the
State to provide state tax dollar support for higher education at the
undergraduate level. The state is no longer appropriating monies to
institutions for undergraduate education, but is providing direct
funding to the undergraduate students through the "College Opportunity
Fund" or "COF". This program is also known as "vouchers" or
"stipends". COF is not a loan, nor is it financial aid.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Acty (FERPA)
At the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus, we are committed to ensuring that our students are well-informed of their privacy rights. As a student at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus, you have certain
rights concerning your education records under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Proof of Lawful Presence in the United States (HB 1023 Certification)
In July 2006 the Colorado State Legislature enacted HB 06S-1023, which became effective on August 1, 2006. The legislation requires all citizens who apply for state-funded benefits that entail any payment or financial assistance provide proof
that they are lawfully present in the United States.
Administrative Withdrawal of Students with Outstanding Debt Policy
Students who owe a past due debt to the university in excess of $1500 may be administratively dropped from any future terms if past due amount is not paid in full before the Friday prior to the first day of classes of the next term. For more information, please review the Outstanding Debt Administrative Drop Policy.
Auraria Campus Fee Waiver Petition
Auraria campus students are charged the mandatory student fees such as the Auraria Bond (AHEC Bond), Energy Renewal, RTD College Pass Program, Student Health Center, Student Recreation and Phoenix Center fees.
Students who are enrolled at multiple campuses (Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, CU Denver) may elect to waive their duplicate fees. In order to do so, you must complete the Auraria Campus Fee Waiver Petition and
return it to the Bursar's Office. In addition to the waiver form, you must also submit a copy of your current bill verifying the duplicate fees charged to your account.
By completing the fee waiver you agree to only submit the waiver one time (per term) and that you will not submit a duplicate waiver petition to another campus. The university will begin accepting and processing fee waivers after census date. Waivers
are only accepted for the current semester and the deadline for submission is the last day of the term.
For questions or more information regarding this policy, please contact our office at 303-315-1800 or e-mail us at Bursar@ucdenver.edu.
Students who have previously filed bankruptcy or have a current open bankruptcy claim thus are covered by the period of automatic stay. If a student has an open bankruptcy claim, or if a student has previously had debt forgiven with the University
of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus through bankruptcy (any chapter), the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus will allow the student full access to records and allow the student to register for future semesters. However,
all payments must be made prior to the registration of the semester for which they are enrolling, or the student must have completed their financial aid packet and have funds awarded by the payment deadline. If the financial aid does not
cover the entire semester enrolled the student must pay in full the remaining balance by payment deadline or you may be dropped from your classes.
E-Bills are online student billing statements. E-Bills display the
same information as paper billing statements (for example: charges for
tuition and fees, as well as credits and payments). As a student, you
will receive a monthly notification to your official university e-mail
account stating that your current E-Bill is available. This e-mail
notification will include a link to the UCDAccess portal and step-by-step instructions for accessing your E-Bill.
Your E-Bill is basically a snapshot of your student account, very
much like any paper bills you may receive. Any student account activity
that has taken place since the E-Bill was created will not be
reflected. The "Account Balance" provided in the "Finances" section of
the Student Center in UCDAccess is your true student balance.
Your payment options will not change as a result of the E-Bill
program. You may pay online with an electronic check or credit card,
in-person at the Bursar's Office, or mail a check or money order payment
to the address provided on the .PDF version of your E-Bill.
You may set up other individuals (such as a parent, guardian,
employer, or other third party) as "Authorized Payers" to view your
E-Bill and make payments online. Any Authorized Payer you establish will
receive an e-mail notification each time a new E-Bill is available. If
your parent or guardian typically pays your tuition and fee bill,
University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus encourages you
to establish that person as an Authorized Payer.
Employee Tuition Benefit Policy
CU offers you or your dependent 9 credit hours of covered tuition each academic year. To fit courses to your schedule, you can use your tuition waiver benefit at any CU campus. As a CU employee, we require that you wait to enroll until the
first day of the semester, but your dependent is allowed to register during open registration. Are you ready to take advantage of this benefit? There are some specific steps to take in order to get your tuition waiver benefit.
E-mail is an official means of communication for students at CU Denver. All official university e-mail will be sent to each student's assigned CU Denver e-mail address. CU Denver will only use CU Denver student e-mail accounts
if it elects to send e-mail communications to students. CU Denver e-mail accounts are available through IT Services. Students are responsible for reading e-mails received from CU Denver.
All students who register for classes at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus are held responsible for payment as described in the Tuition and Fee Agreement and Disclosure. Students accept the terms of this agreement during the registration process in UCDAccess.
