Next Steps After Applying for Financial Aid

To monitor your To-do List:

  1. Log into your UCDAccess student portal
  2. In your "Student Center", click on "Tasks - To-do Items"

View your Financial Aid Award:

  1. Log into your UCDAccess student portal
  2. In your "Student Center", select "Financial Aid"
  3. Click "View Financial Aid"
  4. Select the aid year you wish to view

Accept or decline Subsidized or Unsubsidized Student Loans:

Before a Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan can be applied to your student account, you must complete the steps below:

  1. Log into UCDAccess student portal
  2. In your "Student Center", select "Financial Aid"
  3. Select "Accept/Decline Awards"
  4. Select the aid year you wish to view
  5. Accept or decline the loan by checking the applicable box
  6. Once a loan is accepted, the amount can be reduced to a lower amount needed
  7. After accepting or declining loans, select the "Submit" button at the bottom
  8. Complete required loan paperwork

Apply for a Parent PLUS or Graduate PLUS Loan:

Parent PLUS and Graduate PLUS Loans are credit-based loans. To be considered for the loan, parents and graduate students are required to apply for the loan. Because the credit check is required, the loan is not accepted in the UCDAccess portal.

  1. Apply for the loan at Studentaid.gov
  2. If approved for the loan, complete required loan paperwork

View Your Cost of Attendance:

  1. Log into your UCDAccess student portal
  2. In your “Student Center”, click on “View Financial Aid”
  3. Select the aid year you wish to view
  4. Click on "Financial Aid Summary"
  5. Select the dollar amount listed next to "Estimated Financial Aid Budget"
  6. View the estimated amounts listed for each semester of the aid year you selected
  7. The "Total Cost of Attendance" will be at the bottom of the summary

View Your Summer Specific Cost of Attendance:

  1. Log into your UCDAccess student portal
  2. In your "Student Center", select "View Financial Aid"
  3. Select the financial aid year you wish to view
  4. Scroll down and select the button that says "View Summer Term"

Determine if Financial Aid has Been Applied:

  1. Log into your UCDAccess student portal
  2. Select "View/Pay My Bill" at the top of the page

To Report Scholarships from Private Donors:

  1. Log into your UCDAccess Portal
  2. In your "Student Center", select "Financial Aid"
  3. Select "Reporting Private Scholarships" and read the instructions
  4. Select "Continue", and click on the aid year you wish to report a scholarship for
  5. At the bottom, select "Report Additional Aid" and fill out the form
  6. When finished, select "Save", or continue with "Add Another Award"

Allow Individuals to Inquire About Your Account

How to Authorize and Edit FERPA Permissions

  1. Log into your UCDAccess Portal
  2. In your "Student Center", select "Profile"
  3. Select "FERPA Release"
  4. Read the information and select "Authorize/Edit FERPA Consent to Release" at the bottom
  5. Read the information on the page and fill out the form at the bottom
  6. Finally, select "Save" once you finish filling out the form
