Know What To Do When

January - February

If you are attending school for the spring term, disbursements and refunds occur about a week prior to the start of your semester. Check your Academic Calendar for the date the semester begins.

Students whose spring semester begins the first week of January will see their spring term disbursements and refunds occur during this week.

March

The FAFSA for the upcoming academic year is uploaded into your student record. Check your UCDAccess To Do List for requested forms and documents.

April

The deadline to submit financial aid appeal forms like budget increases, computer, income, and SAP, for the spring semester typically occurs the second week in April.

The deadline to Accept Your Financial Aid or request an increase for the spring semester is 30 days prior to the end of your semester.

If you are attending summer term, and you received financial aid for the previous fall and spring terms, financial aid for the summer term is awarded in late April after you are registered at least half-time. An award notice email will be sent to you after you've been awarded.

If you are attending summer term, but, did not attend or did not receive financial aid in the previous fall and spring terms, please contact the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office to ensure you can receive aid.

May - June

If you are attending school for the summer term, disbursements and refunds occur during the week prior to the start of your semester. Check your Academic Calendar for the date the semester begins.

July

Check your UCDAccess To Do List and coplete any outstanding items that are still "Initiated" or "incomplete" for the upcoming Fall semester to avoid a delay in aid disbursement.

August - September

If you are attending school for the fall term, disbursements and refunds occur during the week prior to the start of your semester. Check your Academic Calendar for the date the semester begins.

October

The FAFSA is now available from October 1 at FAFSA.gov. The FAFSA will be asking for two-year-old tax information.

November

The deadline to submit financial aid appeal forms like budget increases, computer, income, and SAP for the Fall semester is typically the second week in November.

December

The deadline to Accept Your Financial Aid or request a loan increase for the fall semester is usually the first week in December.
