Sitefinity Release Notes: July 2021 (#1)
Release notes for June - July 7th enhancements
Kali Karakasidou | Office of Information Technology Jul 7, 2021Release Item of the Month:
We are so excited to announce the release of the release of the redesigned detail view of Academic Programs. We will be updating the Academic Program AtWeb guide this week to share with you all more guided steps on how to leverage this redesign. As a reminder, this redesign aimed to achieve the following goals:
-
Inform the prospective students on what the program is about, what the application process is, and what the admissions requirements are.
-
Excite the prospective student to consider CU Denver or CU Anschutz (i.e.: Share the cool stuff – news, research, faculty spotlights)
-
Share any other content that would be useful in helping the student make a decision (i.e.: trust-building content – tuition/cost, concentrations, curriculum)
-
Encourage the prospective student to take action (i.e.: CTAs to application pages or request info pages)
-
Provide the user a consistent experience of learning about all programs at CU Denver & CU Anschutz as they navigate through APF.
Enhancements to current functionality:
-
Web Bio link enhancements: we have created the ability to label links in the web bio detail view in effort to shorten the URLs that are shown.
-
Deep link capability in Featured Tabs, Accordions, and Research Admin content types: the ability to deep link tabs (in featured tabs), accordions (in accordions), and lifecycle and sub-phases (in research admin) is now available to site builders. This experience allows an anchor tab/custom URL for individual sections of the content type, similar to how it is done in checklist phases. For more information, check out this page on Atweb.
- Mobile Web Side Navigation UI improvements: based on recent user testing results we updated the caret on the accordion template for side nav. It will now be justified left, closer to the text. We also removed the button styling, so it has no color in the background.
Research Lifecycle visual adjustments: we changed the flexbox specs on the 3 main boxes to match that of our cards on this page.
Widget filtering: added a “loading” icon when data is loading to ensure users do not drop off the page.
New Image Gallery template for long captions: we have created a new template of the Image Gallery that can be used when images specifically have longer captions. For directions on how to use this, please visit AtWeb.
Notable back-end enhancements:
-
Exclusion of various content types from sitemaps: the following content types are now excluded from sitemaps as they should not be indexed by Google as they are not individual pages.
