Sitefinity April 2020 Release
Kali Karakasidou | Office of Information Technology Apr 29, 2020
Our recent months have been primarily focused on supporting the CU Denver Student Journey Web Experience (CU Denver SJWE) project, scheduled to launch at the end of June. As a part of this project, we're excited to share a few new widgets and content types you can start using, even if you're not a part of CU Denver SJWE!
Link destination indicators: this new functionality provides two new icon indicators in the content block, CTA, call to action, enhanced card, and navigation that allow you to indicate to a user if a link will be going to an external side (defined as a site with a different navigation) or a password-protected site. For more information on how to use this functionality, check out these AtWeb pages: Content block, Call to action, CTA, Enhanced card, navigation.
Glossary Tooltip: this new functionality, available in the content block, will allow you to add a definition to a word or phrase so that users can hover over it and get a definition. For more information on how to use this functionality, check out this AtWeb page. Please note that Glossary Tool-tip access will be need to be approved on a case-by-case basis to ensure we're creating consistent definitions. If you'd like access, please email Kali.
Checklist phases: this new widget allows you to organize information about any process that needs to be broken up into multiple phases, such as applying to a program or applying for financial aid. To learn more on how to use this, leverage this AtWeb page. Please note that we identified bugs of this widget in the dual, ColoradoSPH, and CUOnline themes. So, as of this month, this widget will only be available for CU Denver and CU Anschutz themes. We'll be fixing the bugs for the other themes in our May sprint, so at the end of May all other themes will be able to leverage this.
Checklist steps: this new content type allows you to organize actionable steps in a linear, numbered process. This can be used on its own, or embedded as part of checklist phases. To learn more on how to use this, leverage this AtWeb page. Please note that this content type is experiencing similar bugs that checklist phases is, so as of now it's only available to CU Denver and CU Anschutz themes.
Microdata on FAQs: to help show FAQs in Google's search results, we've added schema.org microdata mark-up to our FAQs content type. No other action is needed from your end!
Featured tabs mobile web update: to improve the look and interaction of featured tabs in mobile web, we've made a change where tabs will be stacked instead of condensed. Thank you to the Colorado School of Public Health for this feature request! To view this change, check out this AtWeb page.
Ability to show subheads in hero image, carousel, and video: to improve page goals, we've now turned on the ability for you to select if you'd like to show subheads in each of the hero widgets. To view more on how to do so, check out these AtWeb pages for the hero image, hero carousel, and hero video.
