Hashtags

Hashtags are words, phrases, abbreviations or most recently emojis with a pound symbol (#) placed in front, for example #CUDenver. They are hyperlinked and grouped with other public pieces of content. Hashtags are a way of organizing tweets and Instagram posts around a particular subject area or trend, such as #CUintheCity. We advise using 30 hashtags for each Instagram post and two to four for each tweet and LinkedIn post. They can be used selectively on Facebook to garner more widespread awareness about a hashtag.
